Militia Of One

The MilitiaOfOne Blog was founded in 2015 by Alec Pavlik in High School. The purpose of the blog, to promote liberty and the values that sustain it, comes from a love for America, history and every individual.

The reason this blog promotes liberty is because it is fundamental to human progress, both objectively and spiritually, yet its ideals are being increasingly forgotten and censored. What is this liberty that MilitiaOfOne preaches?

 

Nature is good at bringing what works the best to the top, so when individuals are free to govern themselves, overtime, they will improve and find what is good. Tyrants wish to control it all, believing they know best. When they are in control their centralized planning always buckles. No individual, or even a large enough group of individuals, can predict every need and innovation that can naturally be met by a free society. 

 

But tyrants will always exist, and they will always seek power. Unfortunately the power they seek cannot be destroyed, and that is why for centuries tyrants were only ever overthrown by new tyrants. However, in rare cases people who understand liberty and the values that sustain it will design a new form of government, one that separated power across as many avenues as possible. This is what the Articles of Confederation and Constitution of the United States did, and why the American Revolution forever changed world history. 

 

Sadly, Americans rarely know their own history, or how almost all our current national problems have been caused by the United States government overstepping the authority granted to it by the Law of the Land. It is that overreach and its social consequences that lead to the creation of MilitiaOfOne.

The name MilitiaOfOne is a callback to the Minutemen of the American Revolution. Whether they know it or not, Americans are part of the Militia, currently recognized as the unorganized militia. This makes every individual who trains to uphold freedom for themselves, their neighbor, their state or their country, a militia of one.
