Political Incorrectness and the Republican Candidates

As a member of the Republican Party and a self proclaimed right-wing extremist I tend not to be politically correct. However that does not keep me from my nature of not wanting to offend people just to offend people, I still love people. As a Christian I believe our greatest commandment is to love one another (since it was literally given to us by Jesus, according to John 13:34), so even when I am going against the system I do still explain myself. There is no point in being politically incorrect to just insult people. Being politically incorrect can be anything from saying, “terrorism is right” to saying, “the Christian God loves everyone, even terrorists.” I've heard some people in my party have unwavering support or defend certain candidates because, as they say, "I like anyone who's politically incorrect." Now let me get this straight, I think molding your speeches and views to be politically correct is stupid and the mindset of a conformist (which is basically anti-conservatism). We do need to blatantly speak the truth wether that is politically correct or not. However that does not mean all political incorrectness is a good thing. Almost every Republican Candidate is politically incorrect, but a few use their political incorrectness like it’s some kind of gimmick. If you insult a women on how she looks for no reason other than to insult an opponent, that isn’t just politically incorrect but bullying for a completely pointless reason. Whoever the Republican nominee is, he or she needs to be able to explain themselves to convince independent voters to vote for them. Believe it or not, there are more people registered independent than registered in the Republican or Democratic party. If the nominee is too busy being politically incorrect to even explain why they are holding politically incorrect views, they are not going to convince a majority of the nation (especially as divided our nation is today) to vote for them. Instead of these kinds of candidates saying political correctness doesn’t matter, they specifically parade their politically incorrect viewpoints even if they have no valid argument behind their statements. Meanwhile it pushes away conservative voters like me who want to hear more about limiting the government and saving people my age and younger from even more and more debt. Why should I care about electing a republican if another 4 or even 8 years may go by and the next president has the same amount of unconstitutional power as the current one. This is the reason I have to focus on political incorrectness, it has hijacked our nomination. Instead of finding the smartest and biggest lover of liberty, we’re cheering for some of the most insulting people up there.

Almost everyone of our candidates wants to secure our border (which is something considered politically incorrect), but while a couple candidates have become popular for being good at insulting how other's handle things, they aren't half as knowledgable as the others on how to actually handle the problem. We need to think long and hard on who we want to represent the party and who will restore constitutional order- not just use the corrupt system to pass what they want. In 2020 or 2024 the next president shouldn't be left with the unconstitutional amounts of power this president has and the next president will begin with. The reason I stand with Rand Paul for president is not because I share the same exact views he does on every topic, but because he supports a far more limited government which allows you and me to have a bigger input on the direction of this country. We can nominate Jeb, Christie or Trump but if they even have a chance at winning I doubt they’d aggressively attack and limit the overpowered federal government as president. If we do nominate and elect someone who ends up betraying the voters, Americans will obviously lose more trust in the GOP, leaving the next election wide open for another far left socialist without anything keeping him (or her) from continuing their complete disregard for the constitution. Whoever you choose to support for president make sure they'll make it a priority to limit the government’s power in every field and will explain themselves. People died for our freedom, I think we can at least fight to uphold what they died to give us instead of trading our virtues to elect whoever the media tells us to elect. McCain and Romney failed because they could only win over neoconservatives (and people terrified of more obama), meanwhile more independent conservatives just saw the votes as a lose-lose situation. If we nominate a moderate we get nowhere, if we nominate a bigmouth we ruin the party's reputation even more. We need to either nominate someone with strong virtues or someone with a proven record of standing for conservative principles. Whatever happened to the belief that it's better to live free or die, not that it's better to live free or win. If we trade freedom or our virtues just to get a republican into office, we've already lost, and I refuse to admit all is lost when this country's independance was won over by three percent of the population. As Rand Paul clarified earlier this month, we're here to stay.
